When calling patients to confirm appointments, do not use the word “confirm”. Instead say, “Hello, Mary. This is JoAnne calling from Family Dental. Robin, your hygienist, asked that I call you to let you know that she is looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday at 10:00.” Notice this is a statement and not a question if they are planning on keeping their appointment.
